The mountains are a mother of dreams. No where else that I have experienced can one be so inspired than a prolonged spell in the wilderness. The saturation of awareness, the solitude, the adventures. Mountains are a refuge for the human spirit.

My interest in photography came only after I had devoted much time to the mountains. The more I explored them through climbing, skiing and touring, a fascination for capturing the rich visual and emotional experiences quickly developed. Photography was the perfect outlet.

Learning how to make photographs has sharpened my senses to the subtleties that lie within a pristine landscape. Conditions dictate a beautiful image. Learning to predict these conditions has led me to the some of the most remarkable situations I have experienced. The camera is the vehicle in which I have learned to better understand my mountain subjects.
